Bruce Threlkeld - 3rd Year Instructor
Percussion, Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin

Bruce has taught music lessons for almost three decades on a number of instruments, including drums, guitar, tenor & 5-string banjo, mandolin and dobro. He has developed musical curriculum and has taught courses in other fields, ranging from wilderness education and scuba diving classes to college-level forestry and writing courses. His approach is to instruct in a personalized format according to the goals and aptitude of the student. He draws on his many years of experience as a multi-instrumentalist to bring a "synthesized" approach to teaching music---one that encourages students to learn how their instrument functions as a solo instrument and in a band context.

He currently plays with several Montana bands including The Bop-a-dips (drummer), John Floridis (drummer), The Country Kings (drummer), Quartet Caribe (drummer), The Acousticals (upright bass), and solo gigs playing guitar, banjo, and mandolin. He is currently working on his first solo cd, due to be released in the Spring of 2010. (Full Teacher Profile)
