Guitarist James Wallace has been teaching and performing for over 35 years.

James graduated with a B. A. from the Universtiy of Virginia and studied jazz theory and classical guitar at the Eastman School of Music. He also studied privately with two of New York City's top jazz guitarists and studio musicians, Gene Bertoncini and Harry Leahey. In 1997, James studied with internationally renowned classical guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening.

James has extensive performance experience in all musical styles, including jazz, rock, blues, folk and classical. He currently plays jazz and classical music in local haunts and at private parties.

The James Wallace Guitar Studio offers instruction in:

Lessons are either half an hour or one hour long and taken at a regularly scheduled time once a week. The Studio is open Monday through Saturday, and morning, afternoon and evening times are available.

The James Wallace Guitar Studio offers instruction to students of all ages. Beginners, as well as intermediate and advanced students, are welcome.

Lessons are designed to accommodate individual goals. The Studio welcomes students who want to be able to strum campfire songs, scream on their guitars like Jimi Hendrix, accompany their own vocals with a quiet finger picking style, play their favorite Green Day, Nirvana or Dave Matthews tunes, learn Bach or Villa-Lobos preludes (or develop a less ambitious classical repertoire), play the blues like the greats, develop sizzling lead guitar chops, learn the intricacies of jazz improvisation, play hymns at church, or just learn basic guitar skills and music fundamentals. The purpose of the James Wallace Guitar Studio is to facilitate achievement of these students goals.
