The Tangled Tones Community Recording Lab is now open!!!

  • Memberships are: $30.00/month or $80.00/3 -months.
  • The number of memberships are limited so sign up now.
  • Open Lab Hours are: Tuesdays 3:00pm-6:00pm, Thursdays 3:00pm-9:00pm
  • More days and hours as the memberships grow.
  • If you are qualified to use the lab you can also pay $10.00/use.
  • If you are a member you can bring a friend to record with - a $5.00 fee applies. If the friend would like to become a member they must complete a Beginning Workshop (below).
  • Prerequisites for becoming a member are: the completion of a Summer of Rock camp. If you have not completed a camp but would like to become a member check out the Beginning GarageBand Workshop below. Completion of the Workshop will allow you to become a member of the lab.

What does a membership include:

Use of this equipment during the above stated hours:

-G5 iMacs - Operating these Audio Programs: Digital Peformer, GarageBand & Audacity

- MOTU 896HD - Audio Interface (this can connect to various computers and programs if interested - you can bring in your own rig to hook up to high end equipment). M-Audio Fast Track and Fast Track Pros.

- 8 Tracks, Effects, Loops & More

- Mics: KSM 27 Condenser, SM58, (2) SM57's, various dynamic mics

- DW Drum Set.

-Adjoining editing lab - record your project and then be able to edit it while others work on their recordings.

-Hang out and meet other musicians in the common area when the lab is full.....

 

The next Beginning GarageBand Workshop with Lila Cleminshaw will be:

Day: Saturday - November 1st, 2008

Time: 10:00am - 12:00 pm

Cost: $35.00

Learn to create music and record into your computer using Apple recording software GarageBand.  This class will teach you the basics of using GarageBand.  You will learn to record your instrument and voice, and use software instruments to spark your creativity and create your own piece of music.  You do not need to be a musician to take this class – non-musicians can make music easily with GarageBand.
 
The classes will be offered at Tangled Tones Music Studio.  Taking the class will enable you to purchase a membership to use the studio computers and recording equipment during weekly open recording lab hours.

(These are two identical classes -- you only need to take one of them).
