A Creative Summer Camp Full of Rhythm, Art, Dance & Music

Come join: Matthew Nord—Musician, Raleigh Charbonneau — Percussionist/Drum Builder, Hanna Hannan — Artist - Zootown Arts Community Center and Lizzi Juda — Dancer – Turning The Wheel Dance for a wonderful experience of rhythm, creation, dance & art!

  • Build your own hand-made Ashiko drum!
  • Learn Traditional West-African Rhythms
  • Make a traditional Guiro (South American rhythm instrument) from a gourd! o Decorate and paint your own guiro with instruction from Hanna of Zootown Arts!
  • Experience dance and creative movement – through activities of Turning the Wheel dance with Lizzi Juda.
  • Be part of storytelling with rhythm & art.

Camp Dates : June 15th - 19th – 9:00am-3:00pm

Cost:

  • $225.00 per youth (finished drum value = $250.00!)
  • $150.00 per return camper (campers will bring last years drum to play and build guiros)
  • $260.00 per adult (this is the price for a larger drum)

  • $100.00 deposit required to hold spot - camp limited to 20 drum builders  

  • Parents are greatly encouraged to participate for the first day of camp to help their child start the process and experience camp. (not required)
  • Ages 5 & up - intergenerational camp – parents are welcome to sign up with children and build their own drum! Parents can build their own drum for an additional fee of $35.00 (covers extra material costs).
